A Bollywood-themed party takes place in Rome’s S. Lorenzo quarter on Saturday 17 December. Presented by cultural association Apsaras Balliamo Bollywood, and supported by the Indian embassy and the Bengalese Institute of Culture, visitors to “Be Bollywood” at the Locanda Atlantide can experience the music, colours and traditions of India.
Beginning at 19.00 and continuing throughout the evening, organisers of the event say “India has never been so close.”
The Apsaras professional dance company, active in Rome since 2006, is on hand to teach guests the steps used in some of Bollywood's most famous films. The evening features a Bharata Natyam dance performance by Claudia Kunti, and guests can dance to a mixture of Indian music, chillout, Bollywood and bhangra at an Indian-styled Locanda Atlantide.
The event is open to everyone and includes an Indian buffet which offers specially-flavoured rice dishes prepared by some of Rome’s best Indian restaurants.
Guests can avail of henna designs and discover Indian jewellery and fashion. For more info contact: capslockevents@gmail.com.
